It's not love at first sight when Trine Kjær from Aarhus meets Copenhagen DJ Nicholas Kawamura on a city trip back in 2013. Today, 10 years later, the couple have just become parents for the third time and here Trine talks about three very different caesareans, about the ultimate relationship IKEA test and about finally being mature enough for mothers' group
As Trine Kjær is expecting her second child, Robin, back in 2020, she is sure that this will not be the last time she is pregnant.
“I imagined we would get a copy paste of Roberta, our first child, who was a very easy baby. But the first year of Robin's life was a big blur of crying, colic and illness. So there was a period when we didn't think we should have more children."
Still, it doesn't take long before a glass of wine with her husband, Nicholas, can once again get the talk of a 3 on the table. Therefore, Trine does not sell out of baby things, and the basement becomes a storage room and the visual proof that the family will expand one day.
"We knew it would happen again, but we imagined it would take longer because we felt it would be good for Robin to have a few years where he was in the spotlight."
But in autumn 2022, Trine is faced with an unexpectedly positive pregnancy test.
“In the cycle before I got pregnant, I had taken several pregnancy tests because my period didn't come. It ended up being 10 days late. When my cycle was late again the following month, I thought my body was completely out of balance and made an appointment with my doctor. She asked me to take a test just to be sure and it was positive. I was in shock.
