What does spring mean for your skin after a long winter?
“I love how spring always makes me want to go through my cupboards – and get back on a more positive track regarding both skin and body. It’s a bit like shaking off winter’s dryness and, to be completely honest, also a slightly too critical view of myself.
Because with spring comes light and warmth. A light that can be more revealing, but which also reminds me to get rid of what I call my ‘winter skin’.
I love to exfoliate my skin twice a week, and I like to leave a rich mask on for up to 20 minutes to really get the most out of the ingredients. It leaves me feeling like my skin gets to start fresh. And after a few drops of Hydra Serum, the feeling of completely smooth and soft skin is simply irresistible.”

How does your routine change?
"I actually only change two things in my routine when we move towards the warmer months. I add sunscreen to my morning routine, and I'm mindful of the dosage. My skin is very dry in winter, so I generally use more of my products then. In spring and summer, my skin doesn't have the same need for moisture, so I listen to what it needs and adjust the dosage accordingly. In winter, for example, I use two pumps of Hydra Serum, while one pump is often enough when the weather gets milder.
My routine in the warmer months typically consists of Face Mist, Hydra Serum, and sunscreen. If I wear makeup, I sometimes dab a very thin layer of Everyday Face Cream on before foundation as an extra layer of moisture."

What are typical signs of overdose?
“A typical sign of overdosing on emollients is if your makeup feels like it disappears during the day – that is, it ‘slides’ a bit on the skin. It can also manifest as the skin reacting with blemishes.
When we talk about skin and emollients, however, I always want to advocate for the cleansing product you use. If you cleanse with a soap-based product, you risk stripping the skin of its natural oils. Many will then experience that the skin feels extra dry and therefore requires more emollients afterwards – regardless of the season.
Therefore, it makes good sense to choose a gentler cleanser that cleanses the skin without disturbing its natural balance. For example, our Purifying Milky Face Wash from HONEY is developed precisely to gently cleanse the skin and maintain its natural moisture, so you avoid overcompensating with too many emollients in your skincare routine.”
